- Bubba and his casting – ALL DONE. NO MORE. He got his final cast off on Tuesday and HOLY WOW! You can totally see the difference in how he walks – no tip toe walking at all! It’s remarkable. I am so glad that we did it! There is still a funky gait, but the doc said that will go away. He walked for 6 weeks in a cast – he needs time to make his body walk rhythm. (Think that you normal walk 1-2, 1-2, 1-2…with a cast on you walk – 1-TWOOOO, 1-TWOOOOO) Make sense? And there is a tiny amount of atrophy in the muscle, but again, 6 weeks in the cast, it’s to be expected.
- For those of you following the saga of my diseased uterus – I met with Dr. J this past Monday. His opinion was that I should avoid surgery, even a laparoscopic one, if at all possible. He then countered and said if I told him in no uncertain terms that I did not want to attempt my other option, a IUD, that he would schedule the surgery. We went over pro’s and con’s and I decided to give the IUD a chance. Let me tell ya, so far I LOVE IT. He told me to not get it into my head that it would change the current visit of Aunt Flo and that I needed to give it 3 months before I rendered my decision. He said if after 3 months it’s not made my monthly visits with the witch, FLO, that he would then go the hysterectomy route. Let me tell – by Monday afternoon – I was already noticing a change. Tuesday I actually went out of the house with a tiny little liner and NON BLACK PANTS!!! I was un freaking believable! So – as of now, I am a happy lady. Obviously if May’s visit with the witch is bad – you’ll head about it.
- As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’m all about small, local businesses. I’m so excited because I’ve got a new one to add to my Amy’s List. Efird’s Lawncare. Garnald Efird and I grew up in the same church. As I remind him, he’s a couple of years older than me. He started his own business in the past year and is doing a fabulous job. He lives in the neighborhood behind ours – so I’d occasionally see him out with his FOUR boys. Anyway – He’s now helping me with some yard needs and I have to tell ya….he is a work horse! I’m so very impressed and his prices are so reasonable! I give him the Amy’s List seal of approval and would highly recommend him!!!! (No, i do not get paid to say great things about the businesses I use or recommend…) You can find his contact info on my Amy’s List page.
- No big plans this weekend – Soccer is on the menu and getting some much needed housework DONE!!!
