Poor Crash

My baby Crash has influenza, aka "the flu". Poor thing. He looks horrible. He can hardly sit up, much less stand up. He is one tough cookie too, so for him to be knocked down like this is just freaky!!!!!

We missed the 48 hour mark to get him treated with the anti-viral flu med stuff. We could have tried it to see if it might work, but the chances were slim and there were lots of side effects. Doctor felt it wasn't worth it, so we are treating symptoms and trying to keep him comfortable.

So, here I sit at home, should be washing clothes, so I guess I will start that in a minute....yeeehaw

Busy Two Weeks

It has been a crazy past two weeks around this house. Weekend of Valentine's, we worked a soccer tournament...allllll weekend. It's honestly alot of work, but fun. I enjoy being around the other people, especially my friend Martha and her boys. Her boys make me laugh (and are the cutest things ever), and my kids enjoy being around them too, plus it's soccer. Doesn't really get any better than that, right? It was a good tourney, Crash's team took first place in their division. Very cool.

Then we had a busy week of just normal life stuff going on. Lola had a book report project thing that was due last Tuesday. Lola does not like doing homework, much less projects, so the week started off with her whining alot about how stupid the project was and she would really just rather have a zero. Seriously, she said that.

Oh what is a mother to do? Blackmail.

The flower girl dress that she is wearing in April came in on Monday. So we kept it at my moms and blackmailed her butt. If you want to see the dress - EVER - you will get that project done.

Damned if she didn't have the written part all done on Tuesday evening. Lickity Split! And she did a good job - even more impressive. The art part, which was sooo easy, she got done on Wednesday.

Don't tell me I don't know how to parent!!!! Ya have to know what motivates them~

Then we got that call that my step Grandfather, Albert, passed away. Bless his heart. He was married to my Gram'Mabel for 22 years. Man deserves a medal for that alone. Mabel is cookoo for cocoa puffs, if ya get my drift. Albert was ready, he had been very ill and on deaths door since this past summer.

The funeral was this past Sunday, so we left Saturday evening after Crash's soccer game to drive over to the eastern part of the state. Not a fun trip must follow that statement. It's just a LONG boring ride. 4 1/2 hours .....pregnant. Yuck. We didn't stay at Mabel's, too crowded and too much KOOL menthol cigarettes for me. So we stayed with my dad's cousin, Willie G as we call her, my kids call her Aunt Wilda. She comes to Nags Head with us and my kids ADORE her. she has wiggled her way right into being the favorite aunt for sure....why?

She has a SA-WEET Mercedes - named Jezebel, its a convertible. And the kids got to ride with her to the funeral and back to the family home. AND, she put the top down and went really fast for them!!!! She is now officially, the coolest. And she plays cards, which just moves you higher up on the chain in my kids eyes.

SO now, this week, we are back into our normal crazy mode. Soccer practice, PTA, homework and work work. I get sweet little man E for a while today. He is just such a good baby, I never mind when they need me. And it's good practice, right?

We still have no name for Baby Boy. We're still accepting suggestions. Just keep in mind we have a crazy last name, so it can't be a crazy first name.

Off to get some vacuuming done before E shows up - stay warm!

Am I Blue?

Just got home from a wonderful morning at the Women's Institute (translation, you are over 35 and get to go downtown for your ultrasound.)

Baby is super healthy from everything that can be measured and tested without doing an amniocentesis...

And it's a BOY!!!!
We are thrilled. It was amazing to watch the ultrasound with Crash and Lola there, hate that Pootie wasn't able to be there, but the other 2 are going to meet him at the bus stop.
Now for the name game....

So excited, but so nervous

Sitting here at home waiting for it to be time to go pick up Lola & Crash. They are going with us to the ultrasound. Pootie can't miss class so he'll have to wait until this afternoon when he gets home to find out.

I am very nervous. Not about the boy or girl thing, just tell me everything is ok and I'm happy. I honestly have no preference of boy or girl. We've got both flavors, so either is fine. Everyone keeps asking if Lola wants to a sister. Honestly, she'll be fine either way. She's going to be the BIG sister, so that's all that matters to her.

So - I'm off, more later!!!! Promise!

Say a prayer that baby is super healthy :)

A week off..

I have had a wretched head cold thing happening. I know one day soon I will be able to breath. So, I have not been able to go over and smooch on the new babies. Which is killing me.

We go tomorrow at 9:45 for the "big" ultrasound...and this baby will hopefully cooperate and let them see if it's a boy or a "gul". Right now, Lola is for sure going. Crash said this morning that he wants to go, Pootie, not sure if he will give up missing class in middle school for this.

We are all very anxious to find out. I had a regular ob appointment this past Thursday and got to hear the heartbeat again. It's nerve racking between the doctor's appointments!!! I really like my doctor's too. This is a new practice, closer to home. I switched about 2 years ago because I thought, hey, ya know, I'm done having babies, loved my old practice, they delivered all 3 of my bebe's, but I don't need to drive downtown once a year!!! hehe.. So it is kind of funny going through my bebe history with someone new. I know, each pregnancy is different, but they "knew" me.

Hubby says that after we know boy or gul, he will be ready to discuss names. He did that crap to me with the other three. Men. The naming committee does have a list started. And yes, once we figure out what the name is, we will tell everyone, but will reserve the right to change our mind at any time, without any notice.

The list right now consists of the names I put on the list. Crash has been removed from the committee because he keeps suggesting athletes names. Keshaun Davis with our last name, just doesn't flow.

Girl's names we (I) like: Annabell, Ava, Carly, Chloe, Daisy, Eliza, Ella, Emma, Grace, Lily and Zoe. I also would love to use the name Genevieve, that was my grandmothers name, we could call her Gigi or Vivi, but that keeps getting shot down. I think I like Grace for the middle name, whichever way we go. I also still like the name HollyGrace.

Boy's names we (I ) like: Christopher for a first name, then middle names, Aidan, Grady, Max, Bo (or Beau) Chase, Daniel, Isaac, Mason, Gavin. My thought is to call bebe by the middle name. Hubby did say that he likes Max. Crash and Pootie like the name James, and also suggested, and we do like the name is Joseph Maxwell.

Cast your votes and send your suggestions!!!! We are totally open!!!!

Remember this post....where I announced that our dear friends (they are family by choice), the B's were having twins (or tin's, as their 3 year old says. Baby B and Baby A, one is a boy and one is a gul. Again, she is 3.) Well, baby B and Baby A are here! They arrived yesterday morning. A HOME birth, with MIDWIVES!!! Babies are wonderful and mom is doing great. Baby Boy weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces and Baby Gul weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces. Pretty good sizes and they came pretty dang close to their due date....

Here they are...Baby Gul is at the top of the photo and Baby Boy is at the bottom. Precious. Hubby and Pootie have seen them, I have not. I have a head cold or a sinus infection, either way, I am not risking it with my new sweet babies!!!
