First time for everything…

We’ve been horrible parents.  We just took Bubba to the zoo.  For the first time.  And we (me) made the big kids come too. 

Forced Family Fun.

I told them the only way for them to get out of the house later was to convince me they were having fun.  All three made a valiant effort. 

All a momma can ask.

So here are a few pictures..

 

Bubba has always like to be on someone’s shoulders – worked out well – he made sure he got to see everything!

Kangaroo exhibit – you actually get to walk into their “habitat”!  This one was about 3 feet from us – not fence or anything between us! 

The brown bears were awesome – the one playing in the water was holding onto a piece of wood just splashing around. 

Ok. Let me say that this looked like a regular damned cat to me.  All I’m saying….it was actually some Africa cat with some crazy named like Black Spotted Paw Cat or something like that.  It was so cute and tiny….

And he found someone else’s shoulders to get on….The elephant exhibit..

The birds – you can buy nectar and go inside and the birds will come and feed.  Yep – that bird is on Hubby’s hand.

 

    

 

And nothing like the zoo and the barn yard exhibit.  The goats are a hoot!

A Funny

This week is soccer tryouts across the state of NC.  For those who know, YOU KNOW.  If you don’t, you cannot appreciate some of the craziness I encounter as an employee of a soccer club…

My friend, SusieMom, does (her son, G and my Crash are best buds).  She sent this to me today.  It was like she knew I needed to laugh. 

It’s not soccer – but it’s the same thing.

 

At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside and asked,
'Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?' The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
'Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?'
The little boy nodded 'yes'.
'So,' the coach continued, 'I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse,
attack the umpire, or call him a pecker-head, dickhead or asshole. Do you understand all that? '
The little boy nodded 'yes' again.

He continued, 'And when I take you out of the game so another boy gets a chance to play too,
it's not good sportsmanship to call your coach "a dumb ass or shithead" is it?'
The little boy shook his head 'NO'.

'GOOD', said the coach . . . 'Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother!'

 

Thanks SusieMom – it was the perfect laugh at the perfect time!!!  We’ve been dealing with some funny folk and requests this week…my favorite is the dad, whose son is a true U13 for this upcoming season but he wants him to play up at U15.  Um – he’s as a big as Bubba.

Draft Mode

I know.  It’s been a while.  The irony is, I have several “posts” that I’ve started and  have not finished…so they sit in DRAFDT MODE.

I could tell you that I’ve been busy.  And I have.  It would not be a lie.  But I have 4 kids, and work part time, when I am not busy? 

I could tell you that NOTHING has gone on worthy of putting into words.  But I have 4 kids and so you know that SOMETHING has to have happened that was worthy of documenting..

But the fact is – I’m just not in the mood.

So I turn to old faithful…THE BULLET POINTS to catch you up.

Since April 12th, my last post.

• I turned OLDER …this is me and my girlie….she’s such a trip.  She was trying to show me how to take “selfie” pictures on my camera.  Yes, it’s true I had no idea. 

• Bubba turned 4

• Crash turned 14.  I cannot believe that he will go to high school this fall!!!!! 

• Hubby turned OLDER. He’s on the right -

• Crash’s middle school soccer team, while not the World Cup by any means, did win their conference.  Undefeated.  It was a super fun season and for him I am truly glad he decided to do it.  How he kept up with that, school AND club soccer is beyond me.  (Oh, wait, that’s because I drive him everywhere!)

• Pootie got hurt during practice.  Deep tissue bruise to leg directly above his right knee.  (you can still see the swelling…..)

• Sassy girl so ready for the summer and is already plotting how she can get back up to my Aunt’s in Virginia.  Cracks me up because I did the same dang thing!  She is so like me it scares me.

 

18 more days of school….tick tock tick tock.

Ready to have my kids HOME!!!
