Where in the world….

…have I been?   Well it surely is NOT sleeping!!!  I have to tell ya, for the first time in almost a year and a half, I am exhausted.  I say a year and a half because I’m counting “that” point in the pregnancy that I started getting up 4 and  5 times to pee…which was right about the time that I found out I was prego… Thursday, December 4, 2008. Oh yes, I remember that date.  So does the HVAC guy – remember, he found out first.  And had to deal with my breakdown.  Lucky guy.

So from Dec 08 until April 21, 09, it was up at night to pee.  Then April 21, Rowdy arrived.  Then I spent from April 21 until June 4th getting up every 2 (that’s TWO!!!!) hours to pump the boobages.  June 4th, he came home and I was just plain UP.  And now, Rowdy is 10 months old and the little critter is NOT sleeping thru the night…and it’s all catching up with me.

I also think that this STUPID cold weather is causing me to go into a state of depression.  And the stupid weather man just now said we have more rain moving in the beginning of next week.  GESSH! NO MORE!!! I’m going to have to go back to the tanning bed….I can’t take it anymore!!!

Pootie has a birthday this weekend.  He will be 13.  For the most part, aside from acting like a CONE (see previous post) he is pretty decent guy.  I reserve the right to change my opinion based on his mood when he gets home from school. Teens sure can be moody can’t they?  No big plans for his birthday though….he wants a pair of shoes.  He always wants a new pair of shoes.  He has a soccer game and then wants to go to Nakato’s for his birthday – the usual.  Mom and Daddy will go with us.  Chris usually goes with us, but he can’t this year….so we will photo shop him into the pic!

Mom and dad did get a phone call on Thursday night from Chris.  He is alive and well – somewhere, he can’t confirm for sure where he is ya know.  It’s a secret.

Nothing else to exciting going on.  Lola is at home today – she has strep and a “touch” of walking pneumonia.  Started the meds yesterday and the doc said that after 24 hours on this she will feel significantly better and dang if she didn’t wake up this morning feeling much better than when she went to bed!

Warm Weather thoughts to everyone.

It’s Monday, again

That’s right, it’s Monday, again. And it’s a random Monday posting….. AND a rainy day Monday to boot. Go ahead, sing it out, “Rainy Days and Mondays allll – wayssssss, get me downnnnn, me downnnn.”

Random info 1

Sometime between now and tomorrow, my brother will be on his way to Afghanistan.  Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Random info 2

It snowed again on Friday night.  Ugg.  It started about 3:30 Friday afternoon and by 5:00 I was already having a fit of claustrophobia.  Seriously!!!  Ask Hubby.  We still went out for Mex- at the new place right up the street.  It is the kids new favorite place.  There were several cars that had skidded off the road between home and the Rex place.  By Saturday it was gone, as it needed to be.  Just over the cold and mess!!!

Random info 3

Outdoor soccer started this weekend.  Pootie didn’t have any scheduled, Crash had 2, Saturday’s was canceled.  Sunday’s game was on – they won.  It was cold.  And then we went out for a family Valentine’s-Walmart-Cheesy Gift-Hallmark-Made Up Holiday dinner to another family favorite, Trio Restaurant.  It seemed somewhat appropriate that the SIX of us dine their together.  It was, after all, the reason that Hubby and I met.  (Ok, that and our friend, Spaz.)

Really!  We met in the bar area at Trio.  I had to serve him.  First and last time that’s ever happened!!!! :D     Funny story.  He ticked me off – and well, then we fell in love.

Ok, not that simple.  But a post for another day.

Random info 4

I pulled out the sewing machine and have a couple of projects started for the baby.

“He” has a new nickname.  He who is formerly known as Peanut is now known as Rowdy.  It suits him right now.

Here is a super cute picture that some family friends sent us.  It was of my Pootie (on the left) and her son when they were in 2nd grade together.  And yes, just so happens that Karen and I bought the same outfits for the boys.  Look how tiny my Pootie is!!!!

jack and jack

He was such a happy guy.  Now he is a CONE of a Teenager!!  Ya know what a cone is, right?

imageLooks almost I-Dent-ical to my son right now.

Two of the big three just got home from school.  Rowdy is now going to be fussy…..ah the life of a mom!!!

yeah yeah yeah

Let me just be honest.  I hate the cold.  And by hating the cold, I also totally hate the snow.  Hate ice even more than snow.

Our area got about 2 inches of ice and a sprinkling of snow this past Friday night.  I was miserable.

My hubby was not.  He went to school at Appalachian State.  He likes all that mountain snow scenery garbage.

Saturday Hubby played Big Kid with all the kids in the hood.  They were like little lemmings following him off the cliff…… except this was not a cliff cliff, it was a hill, of ice.   And they carried sleds.

Now the cool thing out of this story is that the sleds that the  King Lemming carried were the metal sleds that were given to me and my brother when we were like 8 and 6 years old. No comments about exactly HOW old they are please mother.

So King and the Little Lemmings took off….on a quest for the BIG Hill…and they found it!!!  And they spent most of Saturday Day there, and went back with more adult and teenage lemmings on Saturday night.

I did not go.

Shocker.

Sunday morning, the King and the Little Lemmings were headed back out at 8:30 in the MORNING.  King told them they needed to get the sledding in, because it would be gone quick!!!  (I was cheering loudly at that statement).  After they left, Peanut and I had a talk and we decided we needed to get my dang camera and get bundled up and head out….to find the King and Little Lemmings and take pictures!!!  Capture the memory if you will.

So I did.

Here are the memories…..

This is outside in our front yard looking up the street.  THIS IS NOT THE HILL where the Lemmings go.

From left to right. Crash, Trix, Pootie, Rand, and Lola.  On the Flexible Flyer Metal Sleds…..100_1294

All bundled up…..I think I heard him say “I can’t put my arms down” once or twice.  While he doesn’t look super thrilled in this shot, he actually had a blast and loved being outside!!!  100_1298
